| JACEY WITHERS
Combining the know-how acquired in studying silver smithing and leather craft at the University of North London and Cordwainers College respectively. Jacey Withers launched his debut collection in September 2000.
Now in his seventh season, after some dabbling in folklore, mythology, fairytales and puppetry themes along the way, Jacey’s signature style has been firmly established. It is one which is at times macabre, but always retains a very feminine aesthetic, a combination which has won him the support of a celebrity fan base including Goldfrapp, REM, Sugababes, Kylie and the Darkness.
An electric mix of materials is used to create the collections. Sterling Silver has become the predominant material but is often combined with leather, rope or ribbon alongside swarowski crystals, fresh water pearls and a variety of stones. Unique components are designed and cast in keeping with the theme. Mermaids, were-wolves, puppets and knights in shining armour for example are all familiar in previous collections.
With collaborations with Marcus Lupfer and Lewis under his belt as well as designing this years fashion fringe trophy and the addition of a full men’s line to the collection this season, it would seem that the Jacey Withers story is set to continue.
